Public Research Residency : Public Programme Event II
27 August 2022

In collaboration with Radical Reversibility, the first edition of the Public Research Residency brings together artists Doina Kraal and Roger Cremers for the production of their collaborative project, Spiritus – Archiving the (Un)imaginable. This project is a continuation of an existing conversation and body of research surrounding time travel, the universe, archives, music, sound and storytelling. Working between installation, performance and interdisciplinary practice, Kraal and Cremers will explore the representation of the universe and the stories that are told to describe different phenomena, histories and future scenarios.

Apart from time spent in production, Kraal and Cremers will collaborate with Radical Reversibility and Looiersgracht 60 to present a varied public programme to complement and expand on their research and artistic production. Each Saturday from 20 August to 10 September the public is invited to attend events hosted by the artists and special guests.

For the second event in the public programme, we are pleased to present an afternoon of ‘Collaborative Time Travel’. For this event Kraal and Cremers will invite several people to share a special (hi)story. Guests are invited to bring an object with a story that has specific significance or value and functions as a personal relic. Continuing in the important tradition of oral history, the event will take place live and will open the platform to all listeners interested in sharing or engaging with an existing story. The artists will use the experience of collective storytelling to evoke a miniature time travel in response and respect towards the expansive life of object-hood.

The ‘Collaborative Time Travel’ event will take place on Saturday 27 August from 16:00-18:00. The stories, with the permission of the audience, will be recorded.

Admission is free, please email us if you have any questions about the event or if you would like to attend at info@looiersgracht60.org.
