From Seeing to Acting - Non-Eye Centric Drawing Performance

From Seeing to Acting, is the second group exhibition curated in collaboration with Radical Reversibility, a Dutch art and research collective that investigates the connection between image and perception. From Seeing to Acting proposes a paradigm shift in the ways we perceive and process visual information. The installations, videos, photographs, and sculptures on display engage our moving bodies, challenge our points of view, and encourage us to see beyond the surface of objects.

In conjunction with the exhibition Artist Murat Yildiz (TR) will continue to work on his newest piece from his Non-Eye Centric Drawing series that is being created specifically for the exhibition. You are invited to act as ‘his eyes’ during the creation of the work. Yıldız creates each Non-Eye Centric Drawing with closed eyes to encourage engagement and suggestion from visitors as to the direction and composition of the work. The work will be in progress until the end of September 24th unless a visitor suggests its completion beforehand.

Attendance and participation is free of charge and can be viewed without an appointment. Yıldız will be present and working from Looiersgracht 60 from 12:00-18:00 each day.
