From Seeing to Acting - Gaze Multiple – Hawthorn
Hiryczuk / Van Oevelen
26 September 2021
From Seeing to Acting, is the second group exhibition curated in collaboration with Radical Reversibility, a Dutch art and research collective that investigates the connection between image and perception. From Seeing to Actingproposes a paradigm shift in the ways we perceive and process visual information. The installations, videos, photographs, and sculptures on display engage our moving bodies, challenge our points of view, and encourage us to see beyond the surface of objects.
In conjunction with the show, artists duo Hiryczuk/Van Oevelen (FR/NL) will talk about their current (visual) research surrounding the connection between seeing and our relationship to the environment. From Seeing to Acting presents Hiryczuk/ Van Oevelen’s photographic work Gaze Multiple – Hawthorn (2021), made for the occasion of the exhibition, and as a part of their PhD-research The Gaze Multiple. Hiryczuk / Van Oevelen is a collaboration between artists and researchers Elodie Hiryczuk and Sjoerd van Oevelen.
The artist talk and Q&A will begin at 15:00 on Sunday, September 26. Attendance is free of charge, however, seating is limited. Please reserve a place by emailing us at info@looiersgracht60.org
