From Seeing to Acting - Ecotherapy
Yoichi Kamimura
3 October 2021

From Seeing to Acting, is the second group exhibition curated in collaboration with Radical Reversibility, a Dutch art and research collective that investigates the connection between image and perception. From Seeing to Actingproposes a paradigm shift in the ways we perceive and process visual information. The installations, videos, photographs, and sculptures on display engage our moving bodies, challenge our points of view, and encourage us to see beyond the surface of objects.

In conjunction with the exhibition Yoichi Kamimura (JP), whose installation Phantom Power is on view in the exhibition, will present Ecotherapy, a sound performance . The sounds in the performance will include recordings from drift ice, voices of the ribbon seal, breath from the people of Shiretoko (Hokkaido, Japan) and various creatures in the Amazon. Ecotherapy was originally conceived by Kamimura and curator Seiha Kurosawa for their installation Floating Between the Tropical and Glacial Zones (2021) in Tokyo. This installation is an exploration of the collision between tropical and glacial zones, specifically those of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Amazon Rainforest.

The performance will begin at 16:30 on Sunday October 3. Attendance is free of charge.
